The John Lennon Memorial is located at 71st/72nd Street off Central Park West in New York City. It was purchased through multiple donations following Mr. Lennon’s death by private donors, Yoko Ono and many, many nations of the UN. You will see a plaque here naming the countries that participated in purchasing this parcel of land to create “Strawberry Fields”; of interesting note is that Afghanistan and mentioned countries no longer belong to the UN. Strawberry Fields is in the shape of a teardrop, at the request of Yoko Ono, which she can observe from her apartment that she shared with John Lennon diagonally across the street at The Dakota….it can also be observed aerially. There are several people who unofficially attend to the lovely inlaid mosaid “IMAGINE” every day….laying pennies around the circles, for penny lane, rose petals and other objects of love. It is an absolute “don’t miss” when you visit NYC. There is often a very good guitar player on site playing fab tunes who is not aggressively seeking donations….his dog’s name is MaryJane 🙂
….Imagine all the people, living life in peace 🙂
